Situated in the center of the city cluster north of the Yellow River in the Central Plains Economic Zone, Hebi is one of the 14 core cities in the Central Plains City Cluster Development Plan approved by the State Council. Hebi enjoys convenient traffic. It is
130 kilometers to Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport to the south and 500 kilometers to Tianjin, Qingdao, Lianyungang ports to the east. Within a radius of 500 kilometers, there are five provincial capitals of Zhengzhou, Shijiazhuang, Jinan, Wuhan and Taiyuan and two municipalities of Beijing and Tianjin, covering a consumer population of
400 million. The Beijing-Guangzhou high- speed railway, the Beijing-Guangzhou railway, the national highway 107 and the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao expressway run through the city from north and south; the Shanxi-Henan-Shandong railway has been open to traffic and the Zhengzhou-Jinan high-speed railway passes the city through; the expressways connecting Jincheng in Shanxi Province to Rizhao and Qingdao via Hebi is under accelerated construction. These railway and expressway lines constitute a "four longitudinal and two transverse" traffic pattern. From Hebi, you can reach Zhengzhou in 30 minutes and Beijing in two and a half hours by high-speed train.
